Blast Which Doesn’t makes Noises, Pains More

Filed under: Short Stories — Ankur Lekhi @ 4:47 pm

A cool wind making it a nice evening after a hot and humid day, just a one more day came to an end for most of the people, however for King the life has just started. He has to achieve many things in his life rather then going to bed after 2 hours. No he is not an agent in any call centers; he is guy of 21 years of age, who has some nice and cool dreams in his mind and doing his graduation from Delhi University.

King lives in by-lanes of Railway Colony which has some of the basic enmities for the people staying there. From Railway Colony to one of the best college in city has taken a lot. He had studied in Street lights at the time of power failures and this had started when he was 16 years old. He achieved his place by doing hard work and deserved his place here, where he should be.

Apart from college, he is also working part time and teaching some 12 standard students and from them he used to earn some quick bucks. His students are mainly comprises of some rich dad sons who just wants to cross the border. In all he is earning some good money as the monthly savings are getting near to 12-15 K a month.

In his college King has sighted one girl (Saumya) who also belongs to the same background, (Poor Family Stuff) and has reached to that college on her own, like the King. They both are in same class and are doing the same course, this increases the similarities among them, and however the nature part is totally different.

They both used to argue a lot on each and every question or comment which has been made by any of them. They pretend to the general people or to their classmates that they don’t have any soft corners for each of them. But they both know the reality- A reality which was quiet sweet then the bitterness of the fights.

Time passed and they both became good friends as generally happens and moreover they want to be together- However the dreams and personal ambitions has just emerged to overcome the love and the friendship. They both have different choices and different taste to make the things worst. Still after those all the difference, one Great Personality has said, OPPOSITE FORCES DO ATTRACT.

They started their job and both got their job in very first go and in the same company- now don’t assume they got same profiles. Both were earning some good money and want to start the new life. Both spoken to their respective parents and everything was finalized.
Things were going smooth as there should not be any problems. Though there was some problems regarding their castes however that has been resolved with normal peaceful dialogues.

Now the day comes when King is waiting for Saumya to be his bride. Everything is finalized. Cool winds – People are going to sleep and King is awake to about to get the biggest dream to realize in reality. Everything has been done. Like the modern couples they are in touch with each other through cell phone. Saumya was in beauty parlor and King was on horse and the proceedings and the realization of the dreams has just started.
Both were chatting continuously and were laughing on moments that they had lived in their bachelor life. Beautician instructed Saumya to stop chatting as it would be difficult for her to go ahead … She denied and was continuously talking to King. Everything was going smooth till the moment, bomb goes off, which was in the dustbin near the beauty parlor. There was nonthing left, big day, big dream everything went to ashes. No body was able to identify what has been left and poor king is just waiting for the reply of disconnected call.

Till this day after good no of years has passed… king hates evenings, hates terrorist. He lives however he cannot feel or in other words HE DO NOT WANT TO FEEL the happiness of this world. The last words, the promises, the joyful moments, the sorrows all broken – No body can hear the sound of this blast but as the great personality had said

Punjab Train to Ludhiana (Punjab) A funny story

Filed under: Short Stories — Ankur Lekhi @ 4:43 pm

Well I love Punjab that’s not because I am living in India and I love my country, this is just only because of the fact that I am always surrounded by computer, concrete and all that stuff that one human being hate to be with. Firstly I would like to give my introduction once again, name- you can find on the top of this page – Ankur Lekhi. Working in Technology Department for BPO company and I love to develop my own websites in free time.

I was working in my office on Monday and I called up my uncle in Ludhiana and want to confirm about his plans for weekend. As normal retired person he was also free and I got green signal for my journey. Tickets were being booked from the internet and every formality was being ful-filled as I want to travel on Saturday by Shan-e-Punjab.

One thing I want to mention here that I was working @ nights so for me it was just coming from office and boarding the train. Well for the greenery I think one will go ahead.

D day came and I reached the station with all my luggage to platform no3 of New Delhi Railway Station with my brother. Well as I had booked tickets online, I got window seat which was desired as I want to catch some sleep.

Anyways story is going to begin from here, first of all I would like to tell the map of train, there are row of seats with 3 each, the best way will be 2X3 in a row.
With me there should be 2 more travelers. Well I got surprise of my life, one good Punjabi aunty was seating with her daughter. Daughter was cute and like her, however don’t want to get some good beating in the day train.

Auntiji was really good at doing some charity. First of all she was seating at my seat and asked me like a police office questioning a thief- Show me Your Ticket – I felt blood rushing in my viens, I controlled, and showed her printout. After seeing my ticket (as she was not able to understand English) she asked her daughter to take a look. She nodded in positive. I got sigh of reliever however the most magic moment was yet to be there, she said promptly- “you can sit wherever you feel” and by saying this she occupied Window Seat. I was astonished to see her guts at that time. I requested firmly – “Aunty ji this is my seat.” Well this make her feel bad and she start murmuring however I got my seat.

I want to sleep for a while and tried to do that and found that there are 4 people sitting on a berth of 3, I want to complain however that aunti-ji had made her so called relative comfortable. Now there are 4 people. Now so called relative of auntiji has 4 kids with her.. They also wants some space so, 2 of them were in lap and other 2 were roaming here and there for some space which they gradually got.

Now we are around 7 people sitting and I have adjust with making some good faces and I hate this treatment being given. I tried to complained however everything was in vein. Now I start drinking a coke – for me drinking its normal- friends you wont believe me all the kids and most of the people are staring me and my coke. I don’t know why. I just want to ignore them. However they were chatting about me.. big man traveling in a second class for the first time, I can hear some cool words about me…

The moment I reached ambala station I called up my papa and was chatting to him , the same time, one hawker came to sell something and sold some puris and alloo to kid, I think he deliberately made my pants eat that. Oh!! My god I just ended my levis to eat this stuff. After all they were all happy.

Now they want to stand at window seat. Think about this narrow lane 7 people sitting on a seat of 3 and now other 4 wants to come at window. Literally 3 of them were standing (or I should rather say they were jumping on my foot) I was praying to god Journey to Ludhiana should end .

This is partially true and sorry for making it less interesting as i cannot add some of the Punjabi abusive words here :)
