Umpires with Australian Cricket Team …

Filed under: Cricket, Special News & Events — Ankur Lekhi @ 2:05 am

This is true, that no body can defeat you if you have umpires in your team. This statement once again been given tag as the Australians has just defeat India by some good margin. Umpires had bagged some 4-5 wickets in their tally. Its just like this that were standing to support Australian cricket team, even when Andrew Symonds walked to Harbhajan Singh they never intervened and when they did, it was to protect Symonds.

Now if you had watched the cricket match, the way Saurav Ganguly was given out, was big shock to all cricketing world. Umpire Benson walked to the Australian fielder and asked is that out and fielder raised his finger to say yeah you need to give him out. A bit shocking that umpire will ask the fielders about their own decision. He can consult other field umpire and moreover if they both are not sure they can use technology. Not sure why the technology is being used. Is it for entertainment purpose or seeing that cursed episode again and again as replay?

I think by this match, one thing is clear Australian cricket team will cross all the boundaries for getting catch of the victory. Suggestion for Indian cricket team, play like a team and please lodge the complaint. As an Indian and a cricketing supporter I want to criticize this event as strongly I could. At least ICC should now intervene otherwise this might going to act as grave for them…

6 sixes in an over by Yuvraj Singh (Video Included)

Filed under: Cricket — Ankur Lekhi @ 8:53 am

Well yes Yuvraj Singh has done an extremely good job by hitting 6 Sixes in an over. Just to remind my readers i want to tell you that this has been achieved first time in 20-20 format and second time in the limited over cricket. In the very first time when herchelle Gibbs had done this, that was against very weak side of canada. However this time Yuvraj had made the record against the very good side and against the ace bowler of england.. the bowler who was emerging just like an tornado from no where.

But on that day Yuvraj was there to heal the wounds that were being given to him in England.
The suspense started when Flintoff came to him and said some abusive words regarding Yuvraj’s Game (well he would be repenting now!!! ) yuvraj tried to answer verbaly however verbal duel was taken care by umpire.

Now it was legal way to answer the Flintoff and he done that very majecticaly and in very fruitful manner as india needs to set target of more than 200 runs. I dont want to waste much time and want you to enjoy the video.

Filed under: Cricket — Ankur Lekhi @ 11:09 am

Yeah nice question and an awesome answer, Chris Gayle of West Indies has become the first player to hit century. This thing had happened on 11/09/2007 (Yeah just like twin towers; he hit the ball all over the field). An awesome innings, consists of 5 boundaries and 9 sixes. Isn’t cool innings by the West Indian opener?

This is the first match in ICC World Cup between South Africa and West Indies.
South Africa had won the toss and send West Indies to batting. The comfort level was set from the word go. Especially Gayle, he had plundered than more than anybody in this game and I am sure most of the people never had imagined what the Gayle had done in this match.

The innings consisted of magic sixes all over the place and he never looked out of touch at any sort of game. Chris Gayle had scored 117 (56 balls ) with a strike rate of 205 and hit 7×4 10×6.

India Won an Awesome Match TO Remain In Series

Filed under: Cricket — Ankur Lekhi @ 11:32 am

India Fought back in a fighting spirits in the sixth one day of the Natwest series, between India and England.
The game was on from the toss as India has to win the match to be in the series and it was very much important from the point of view that they have to play well in this match.
The game started as England batted first and made 316 on the board. Indian innings were equally started in a well placed manner as the lion (Sachin Tendulkar) has its major share of the runs in the opening wicket, however the tension comes in the end over as India need a hefty amount of runs in the final over.

2 over India need 23 runs and there was only one recognized batsmen Robin Uthappa.
Uthappa played well on the very first ball of the over he drive it to 4.
Now 19 needed from 11, Anderson bowled well and uthappa just got 1 from it and India still need 18 from 10, tension had arrived and nail biting had just started as the match was on the live wire.

Agarkar was on the other end and who has to face the England’s James Anderson, he smartly drive the ball deep square leg and chased it to 1.

Scores needed 17 from 9, tensions were really high and Anderson came with the delivery, uthappa magic’s worked ball gone for 4. It was electrifying atmosphere as the Indian started believing themselves that they can do it!

5th ball of the over Anderson came with the fire and uthappa just got 2 runs to retain the strike for the final ball. Scores needed were 11 from 7. The match was coming really close.

6th ball of the 49th over was resulted a run out as uthappa strike the ball to the long on and got the first run, agarkar wants second (God knows why) he ran himself out.

50th over, India needs 10 runs from 6 balls the match was not that easy,. Chris broad was the bowler who never had considered more than 5 runs an over through out the match.

49.1, played the risky shot by kindaa sweep got 2 runs, India need 8 out of 5.

49.2 Chris broad swung the ball into the block hole and batsman played back to the bowler and resulted out, a run out as Zaheer was out of the crease. All the people the people were tensed. Most of them were Indians.
49.3 India need handsome 8 runs from 4 deliveries tension all around, uthappa stroke it to 4 same kinds of shot that he had played on the first ball, kind of sweep. Very risky shot for the batsman.
49.4 India need 4 from 3 balls and everybody were looking for close finish, uthappa has something different things going in mind, it hit that ball for 4 so that he can seal the victory and can make his teammates and Indian all over the world proud what he had done.
Cool match – India won by 2 wickets and with 2 balls to spare… isn’t a cool match and with the nail biting finish.
